I had the privileged of taking all of Iya Fayomi’s Ifa classes. It is rare that you find and African-American women skilled in Ifa philosophy, ritual, and Yoruba culture. She is also capable of delivering lessons draped in the cultural paradigm of African-Americans. Learning Ifa requires a lot of memorization and application. It is easier to memorize and apply it when it is presented in a way that makes sense. Fayomi generously adds anecdotes about her life experiences with Ifa that helps you remember and apply the lessons taught. Her class is well worth the money and will put anyone on the correct path to becoming a practicing Awo.
